Isla Mujeres, beautiful treasure island in Mexico

Tropical Island

Turquoise waters, golden sand and garden sculptures, that is how we can describe Isla Mujeres of Mexico. A beautiful treasure island at 13 km from Cancun have just 7 km long and less than 1 km width. To get to this corner of paradise is enough to get loaded at one of three ports in Cancun.

Beautiful beaches, with a lagoon in the middle of the island, coral reef, small shops, restaurants and cafes make of little Isla Murejes, a Treasure Island and a permanent attraction for tourists, a destination for one or more days of vacation on a treasure island. A lot of unique activities in a small island: diving into the "sleeping shark's Grote" is the most exciting underwater experience in Garrafon Park, a protected area or swimming with dolphins.

But Isla Mujeres has much more to offer thank to the National Subaquatico Park, where we discover the largest museum of its kind in the world. To visit this museum you do not need a ticket but you will have to equip with fins, mask and tube oxygen to discover the works exposed seabed. Inaugurated on November 26, 2010, Cancun Underwater Museum offers visitors 400 sculptures with heights between 9 and 20 meters, placed on the bottom of the National Marine Park on the west coast of Isla Mujeres.

If you are searching for the beaches, you will discover two kinds of beaches: those the rocks and big waves, and others with sandy beaches and clear calm waters protected by coral reefs in front of the island. If you are trying to describe this treasure island like fabulous scuba diving and spirituality in the distance, but not too far from the crazy crowds of Riviera Maya!
